ZERO FOOD WASTE
We work super-hard to eliminate waste in our production process: Almost all of the fresh produce we use goes into creating our superfood sticks. The few stalks and husks we can’t use are made into compost to help grow next years produce so there’s no waste.
By choosing to buy Plant Made products you’ll also avoid the food waste that often comes with buying fresh produce that might perish before you get around to eating it - according to the UK’s largest sustainability charity Wrap, 9.5 million tonnes of food is wasted in the UK each year. That’s around 6,000 lorry loads a week - a shocking figure, and one which we want to help reduce by finding ways to enable people to get all the nourishment of fresh fruit and veg in a product with a longer life.
SOURCING LOCALLY
We grow most of our own fresh produce here at Plant Made HQ, and the ingredients that we can’t grow ourselves, we source from carefully chosen local suppliers to maximise quality and freshness and reduce food miles.
An added bonus of sourcing locally is that the packaging our raw produce is delivered in is minimised - our suppliers use cardboard boxes, which we either return to be reused or recycle them.
Although we aren’t here to discuss the economy, we would like to mention that we are proud to support local independent UK farmers; when you buy Plant Made, not only are you doing good for yourself, but you’re also helping support those local producers too.

ENVIRONMENT
We create our products with 100% renewable electricity. No gas or fossil fuels are used in our process. We are extra-efficient with the water we use for prepping of raw produce, and we use a very effective inventory control system with short production runs to ensure we only use the electricity we need to meet demand from our customers. This approach also means we don’t need to use energy running a big warehouse for storage, and we don’t run the risk of having to destroy products that have gone out of date before they are sold.
We only sell directly to end customers, so extra fuel isn’t required to transport our products to distributors to then sit in their warehouses.

THE FUTURE
The next stage of our plan is to make all of our packaging either fully recyclable or compostable. Although our cardboard boxes meet this goal (and are made from recycled paper) we’ve yet to find an environmentally-friendly material for our individual packs. We’re working hard on it though - watch this space!
